With the technology of Midjourney, and Adobe's Photoshop AI, there is now no limit to the amazing visuals artists can create. Today, we have the keys to unlock the strange and wonderful world art that we never had access to before. When I first started in this business, it would take us days to get comps like these mocked up to presentation level. Maybe even weeks. Then, we would need extra studio production hands to polish them up. Teams of 3D artists and retouchers would put in hours to achieve this kind of quality. It was expensive and time consuming. These days a talented creative can achieve beautiful results within mere hours or even minutes. It is quite an astonishing time for the visual artists out there. It is a time in art where the only creative limits we face are the limits of our imaginations.
Fair warning to you. It gets pretty wacky beyond this point.

AI Cinematic Film Treatments
It's also really great for creating cinematic imagery for film and commercials. In the right hands, someone with the right experience of pop-culture, film history, and story structure, can really craft and pitch stories to be produced into amazing films. The following visuals draw inspiration from the masterful techniques and breathtaking cinematography of iconic cowboy westerns and Japanese samurai films.
Prompt engineering goes a long way when combined with the cinematic knowledge of aspect ratios, camera lenses, and focal settings mastered by legendary film directors such as John Ford, Sergio Leone, and Akira Kurosawa.
Western Cowboy Film Study in Midjourney
These renders were created by exploring cinematography prompts focusing on 2.35 Anamorphic aspect ratios, medium close up and extreme close up framing, and long lenses, all within the context of the classic 35mm film format. The life-like ruggedness and imperfect beauty achieved are an ode to the timeless throwback of "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.”
Blade Runner Sci-Fi Film AI Treatment
Fusing the futuristic elements of sci-fi with the dark world of Neo-noir, this project harnesses the spirit of Ridley Scott's visionary filmmaking and the evocative nature of Orwellian literature. Exploring questions about society, identity, and morality, I dove in to Midjourney to bring forth a story that challenges conventions and invites audiences to reflect on the delicate balance between technology and humanity. In a world where we can no longer tell human from AI, mystery and suspense thrive. Who can you trust? How can you tell the real from the synthetic?
Building a believable fantasy world must be grounded in truth and practicality. The stark truth of our carbon footprint on nature, intertwined with the unsettling pace of unethical technological advancement serve as a north star to create a realistic portrayal of our world in the not-so-distant future. Atmosphere, weather, humidity, precipitation and perspiration bring smell and taste to breathe life into an emotional boiling city of humans and cybernetic organisms.
Generative AI art especially focused on photo-realism can also get frighteningly realistic. We can craft breathtaking images of life-like imagery we used to think only could be produced by cameras or Mother Nature herself. Fooling the eye has always been central to art and the benefit of the viewer. As the legendary Picasso once said, “Art is the lie that enables us to realize the truth.” Yet when politics and financial gain are thrown into the mix, this tool can easily be used against us.
